Python語法中的複合語句，包含了一些其他語句，它們以某種方式影響或控制這些其他語句的執行。Python的複合語句包含一個或多個子句（clause），子句構成自一個頭部（header）和一個套件（suite）。特定複合語句的子句頭部都在同樣的縮排層級上，每個子句頭部開始 於一個唯一標識關鍵字，並結束於一個冒號。套件即語法意義上的塊，是這個子句所控制的一組語句。 Python uses whitespace indentation(空白鍵縮排), rather than curly brackets or keywords(而不是使用大括號), to delimit blocks(來界定區段). An increase in indentation comes after certain statements; a decrease in indentation signifies the end of the current block.[82] Thus, the program's visual structure accurately represents its semantic structure.[83] This feature is sometimes termed the off-side rule. Some other languages use indentation this way; but in most, indentation has no semantic meaning. The recommended indent size is four spaces.
